Grumpy Old Drummer/Teacher/Lecturer/Scientist/Psychologist/Guitarist/Bassist/etc... if there is anything one can be with the education, training, qualifications and experience I have, then I am a Grumpy Old version of it!
Occupation:
Psycho-Educational Consultant (when I get the chance!)
Bit here about my background - so you know where I'm coming from with stuff:
My basic school level qualifiations are in: English, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, music, and chemistry.
University entrance stuff: Certificate of Preparation for Higher Education (a UK university-access qualification) in communication, history and biology.
Bachelor of Applied Science -equivalence 180 ects) in: applicable psychology (M; 90 ects), mathematical sciences (engineering physics; m; 60 ects), archaeology (s; 30 ects).
Master of Education (90 ects) in: special education (educational psychology), with specialism in autism across the life-span.
Certificate of Professional Specialisation in Education (30 ects) in: educational & organisational ethnopsychology.
I worked as a mental health assistant in a social psychiatry unit for just under a year, till the place closed down. I spent ten years as an international associate editor for an autism-specialist peer-review journal. I've worked as a research technician in remediation engineering and medical physics (some of my work actually consisted of - if you were to listen to it - apparently teaching Stephen Hawking to swear!). I've taught mathematics, physics, engineering, psychology, social studies (in English, in Finland), and then spent two years as a visiting lecture in education (psychology) at my old university (where I reviewed and revised distance learning materials, as well as tutoring in research methods & data analysis, and supervising postgraduate research in educational psychology).
Current studies: centred on applied epidemiology.
