Biography: Born November 7th Ebony "KARMA" Dior born Ebony Carolyn Bankston was born in St. Clair, MI to parents Rosemary Gonzales and Albert C. Bankston, Jr. She was raised in Port Huron, MI. She is of Mexican Indian (Aztec), Irish and African-American decent. Ebony “KARMA” Dior began singing and writing songs at the age of 12 in the basement studio of a neighbor's home with Sara Stokes (formerly of MTV’s “Making the Band” Season 2). She began writing poetry and winning school contests for her writing, photography, and dancing throughout her pre-teen years. She studied continuously growing up as a teen by entering talent shows and choreographing routines for drama class in high school. Growing up in a home full of turmoil, she took to her pen again after landing herself in prison after selling drugs to escape poverty-all the while still maintaining a 3.9 GPA in high school. Her faithful mother died of a long battle with Lupus while she was serving her sentence in Scotts Correctional Facility in Plymouth, MI. She took that pain and turned into liquid gold. Lyrics of injustice, sex, love, religion, life and heartbreak have seared through the hearts of her fans creating a fierce determination to share her gift with the world. She is now not only an owner of the indie label AMI, she also owns and operates a small business, a record label: Artists Music International (AMI), and a publishing company (Carbon Icon Publishing Co.) Incredibly, tucking away her past as if it never existed, she will receive her Doctorate in Business Administration in 2016. KARMA has collaborated with many artists from the extremely well-known to undiscovered indie artists. She has written songs for many artists and writes 100% of her own material. She wrote "A Shallow Bed with No Roses" in its entirety (except the rap written by Amber “Skeezo” Oile). This single will be featured in Coast 2 Coast "Hottest in the State" Mixtape 11 Michigan Edition, Vol. 5, has been featured on HSN Radio, WGTBS Late Nite Confessions, PushPromo.com, AGTV, Get Lifted Entertainment, Jack Thriller, Chris Brown’s Mechanical Dummy, 50 Cent’s blog This is 50, All Hip Hop, Urban Alley and the international magazine The Examiner recently , this artist just opened up for Trick Trick on his Detroit leg of his Outlaw Tour.
