Alistair Dawson was born in Boston, Massachusetts, being the only kid was never a fun thing. Not when both of his parents looked down at him, wanting him to became something big when he got older. His father wanted him to take over the business and his mother wanted him to marry a pretty girl only neither of those things had happened.
By the time Alistair was 18 he was coming clean to his mother that he had feeling for guys, that he was in love with one. She wasn't okay with her son's sexuality, but she wanted him to be happy and the more the boyfriend had come around the more she was happy for him. Seeing her son's face light up was the one thing that keep his mother happy. Sadly the only person who didn't approve of this was his father.
His father believed it was a disgrace to the family and banned his son from ever seeing the boy again, only that had back lashed when he told his father he could shove the job up his ass and left. By the age of 21 Alistair was moving to Brooklyn, New York with his boyfriend James. A man that had made Alistair happy and supported everything he did. James was his happy ending and he knew it the second he laid eye's on the guy they were meant to be.
As years passed everything was going prefect in Alistair's life, James had asked him to marry him and Alistair had told him yes. Being engaged to not only his best friend but his soul mates was the best thing that happened in life Alistair in 18 year's. Only that didn't last when he was coming home one day with the new's James had cancer, how could someone so breath taking and amazing like him have cancer.
This couldn't be right, James was so young and Alistair did everything to make sure he stayed health like he had asked him to. The only thing that made this harder on Alistair was hearing James only had at most 4 months to live. Four months that felt like a life time, he had done everything with his boyfriend only it had lasted about two months before James was being rushed to the hospital. Fighting to breath had put Alistair in a spot to wanna scream his head off, why was this happening to him.
All Alistair wanted was to live a long and happy life with his fiance, maybe one day have the family they were talking about. How one thing can destroy your happiness was beyond him, but he had to hope for the best. James was strong and he was a fighter, it was one of the many thing's that had caught Alistair attention. James was the person Alistair never thought he could be, he wasn't just his fiance..... no he was his back board someone he could vent to when he couldn't go to any one else he knew he had James waiting at the door ready to hear about his day.
Now going home was just misery he didn't wanna face, to the point Alistair had lost sleep just to stay with James, he knew his time was a limit and he wanted to be by his side every second he had left. Except the one time Alistair had left James side was the one time he wished he was there for him, getting the news that his fiance had passed away left Alistair standing there as the coffee dropped from his hand and he fell to his knee's. ' The one time he needed me and I wasn't there.' he mused to himself and shook his head, this couldn't be right. This couldn't be the James he knew and loved.
Only it was the truth, he had lost James to cancer, something he found himself having a hard time accepting. Something he new deep down he would never let go of, James was his one his only and he made a promise to never love again. At least for a long time, he was only 26 there was no rush for him to go out and look again but he knew James would want him to be happy again.
A year after losing James, Alistair had pushed him self to go on simple dates and make friends, only the date's never ended well. Alistair found him self leaving bored half the time or not going at all, he h
